A unique band performing at the Festival de la Hispanidad – October 2014

Third Festival de la Hispanidad

A diverse group of hispanic cultures will meet at the Paseo de la Princesa this weekend to celebrate the Third Festival de la Hispanidad. You will have the opportunity to explore all of them through music, food, arts and crafts. The countries represented will be Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, España, Mexico, Panamá, Perú, República Dominicana and Venezuela.

You have to watch Fusion Jonda

The event will last two days, and the fun will start at 11:00 a.m. each day until the wee hours.  Actually, we are not sure when is the ending time, but last year the activities ran from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.  Regardless, you must be there Saturday at 8:00 p.m. This is the time when Fusion Jonda will be performing.  They are the band shown in our featured image. Fusion Jonda is an interesting band that combines Rumba and Flamenco with Caribbean rhythms.  I just heard the coolest song called “Chocamelo” that combines rumba and reggaeton.  Can you believe it, flamencorrregaeton? Check out this recording and be patient because the fun part starts in minute 2:00…

This is the original picture of the band that I “borrowed” to have a nice heading in this posting.  I hope they don’t mind.Fusion Jonda
